New and Renewable Energy Resources for Rural poor

Project Brief:

The initiative envisages harnessing renewable energies through solar equipment for lighting and household utilities. So far 1000 rural households have accessed the technologies lighting their homes, lessening carbon foot print. The project is being operated in entire AP with the partnership of small NGOs. The equipment are demonstrated in Bio Cop 11 participated by 190 nations.

SKS has strategic partnership with Thrive Energy Technologies Pvt., Ltd., Hyderabad for its solar initiatives

Thrive Solar Energy Pvt., Ltd., is the technical back stopper providing crucial supply chain and guidance in solar applications. Thrive Solar Energy Pvt., Ltd., is recognized and empaneled by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India and NABARD that entitle solar consumers in the proposed project 40% subsidy under Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. Their spread is across African continent and in India they have extensive distribution network in Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. They have manufacturing facility in Hyderabad and can be counted as one of the 5 biggest solar companies in India. Coming from NGO background, they have been into solar social enterprise with similar approach and their non-profit arm is "one child one light Trust”. Thrive is winner of World Bank 2006 Development Market Place Award, Recipient of Frost and Sullivan 2011, LED Excellence Award, winner of World Bank and IFC, 2008 Lighting Africa Development Market Place Award. It has also won Emerging India Award for being the most socially responsible organization – 2012 constituted by ICICI, CNBC TV 18. They have export foot prints in 12 African, Asian and Latin American countries.
